With nearly 1800 reviews, what can I add about Guard and Grace that hasn't already been said? Troy and Grace Guard serve-up the best cuts of steak, sides and top tier wine in their high-end, trendy downtown Denver steakhouse. The atmosphere is trendy and bustling. The service is attentive but not overbearing. I would say: try to make reservations. Busy nights it can be hard to get a table and with good reason. Also, valet-parking.

One of the best overall restaurant experiences I've had in years. I was impressed last time here two years ago, but everything became over the top 5 stars this visit. Every app and entrée were perfectly cooked with flawless unique flavor accomplished. The server, expediters and management all have their masters in guest satisfaction and positive energy. The lighting, ambient music, table spacing and flow of staff and guest traffic were super comfy. Living up in the Vail I only get to Denver so often, but cannot wait till the next visit to Guard and Grace. Troy Guard has mastered this food service thing!

Such a memorable meal! My party of 5 was celebrating a birthday and we were able to make last minute dinner reservations here. Let me just dive right into the food. For appetizers, we had the octopus and crab cake. The octopus itself was tender and soft and accompanied with a spicy red sauce that provided a good kick. Bonus points that it was cut conveniently into 5 pieces. The crab cake was seasoned really well, cooked perfectly, and provided a good sweetness from the orange slice and a crunch from the onion topping. 3 of us shared the 32 oz tomahawk, and wow, the flavor was on point. It was juicy, tender, and cooked to a perfect medium rare. Perfectly charred with good marbling, I can't say enough good things about this! It was presented with a nice pop of color from the roasted carrots and it came with a side of demi glaze. Since this was a shared dish, we each got our own plate and it came out nice and warm, which I thought was a thoughtful touch. Accompanying our entrees were a handful of sides. The gnocchi were pillows of happiness. The broccolini was nicely roasted, had a good crunch, but had a strong fish sauce flavor that could be a bit overpowering. The truffle mac and cheese was my favorite though. The mac was cooked al dente with a noticeable truffle flavor, and, not to mention, very generous portion size. The service was also impeccable. Our waitress was amazing in helping us navigate the menu as first time diners and came back to check on us frequently, even as the restaurant filled up. She made this dinner celebration that much more memorable.

I finally had a good excuse to try this restaurant and had a terrific dinner last week. The place is very nice, so dress up a bit and make a reservation at their website. For appetizers we had the carrots and burrata - both were delicious, and I'd especially recommend the burrata. Dinner were steaks and they offered a few varieties. I had a NY strip and it was prepared perfectly. Also had the brussel sprouts and they were excellent. The appetizers were generously sized portions and I enjoyed some of each the next day for lunch. The wine selection is more than ample, including many options by the glass. Service was great. The place is not cheap - it was a little over $200 for two people, but I felt it was worth it, and look forward to returning.

AMAZING dinner at guard and Grace!!! They are fancy here don't stack your plates or anything they do that for you lol. I saw there was a dress code so I was like ong am I gonna fit in here? But some people still wear jeans and stuff. I got this drink with the coolest huge ice cube ever, it had a bubble wrap texture just look at the pic. I couldn't stop staring at it. Oh and the same cocktail came with a chive but I thought it was a straw lol! Nope. Took a chomp out of it though and it complimented the drink well. Also don't worry if you don't know what kind of letterhead your steak is supposed to be - A5 8 by 11 who knows, they will tell you what you need. I got some fish and confirmed they don't serve it with eyes (sometimes fancy places do that ). Thanks for a great date guard and Grace. I sure let my guard down here.

Guard and Grace was on my wishlist for a very long time (~12 years) and I am not sure why it took me so long to dine there but I am glad I eventually did. The praise and hype it receives is well-deserved. The food was amazing and surprisingly not as pricey as I expected it to be considering that Guard and Grace is well-known in Denver as a nice steakhouse to go to. We ordered the filet flight (4 oz of prime, wagyu, and grass-fed each), brussel sprouts, half dozen west coast oysters, and a slice of the goat cheese cake. My favorite out of all of these was, to my surprise, the goat cheese cake as I am not a big dessert guy. The steaks were cooked to perfection although quite salty. The brussel sprouts were VERY salty but tasty and cooked very well. The oysters were delicious. But the goat cheese cake was so good. When I go back, I will make sure to order a dish like bread to cut the richness of everything. They do give you complimentary bread as an appetizer, which is also fantastic, but it was not enough for us to last into our entrees. What was equally as good as the food was the service. Our waitress and other wait staff were on top of everything throughout our visit there. Our water glasses were never empty. The empty plates were always taken away promptly. AND on top of everything, I got a handwritten card congratulating me on my birthday as well as a beautifully-written "Happy Birthday" message on my goat cheese cake. Do not be like me and make sure to visit Guard and Grace if you have not already. They will make it worth your time and money!

First time visit to Guard and Grace and it was a great steakhouse. The food was very well prepared and the service was top notch. I had the wedge salad and the short rib and my friends had steaks. We shared the octopus appetizer and it was superb; best I've had! The vibe and dress code was casual, which was perfect for us since we were travelers. Guard and Grace's "modern steakhouse" description is absolutely correct; would definitely recommended. Can't wait to visit again!

Christine was the best server! She was so sweet and made our engagement celebration dinner so special. We ordered the crispy tuna sushi to start along with the octopus and both were phenomenal. We both ordered steaks and brocollini to share. The steak was cooked to perfection and the brocollini was so flavorful. To end it off we ordered the toffee cake and an espresso martini. She suggested the cookies and we passed but she still brought us out two to try on the house! To make it even more special she had the ENTIRE STAFF sign a card for us! This was my second time coming in and I can't wait to go back again when we are back in Denver!

Excellent food and service. Lively ambience. We were so grateful for the wonderful experience we had at the Guard and Grace. The wine choice recommendation worked magically with the fish. I love it when the interaction of a sip of wine followed by a tasty morsel enhance the flavors of each respectfully. It is indeed an art to get that pairing right. I recommend to reserve a table in advance because it can be get quite popular here. By the time we left, there wasn't an available table from stem to stern. I'm looking forward to my next visit!!!
